The Acme Township Board will hold their regular meetings on the first Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at the Acme Township Hall.
Obviously, Acme’s Township Supervisor didn’t mean what he said. According to Supervisor Kurtz, “…I’m going to continue to court both Meijer and the Village developers to join us in getting at least phase one of these 450 acres planned out...” (Record Eagle, 3/4/2007). Our township’s newsletter stated, “the answer to this conflict lies with RTKL, a Chicago-based world wide planning firm selected by our New Urbanism Advisory.” (The Outlook, May 2007) Please read RTKL’s letter of resignation regarding the Town Center project in Acme Township, dated 6/21/07. Then read the letter Steve Smith, Village at Grand Traverse developer, entered into the record at the June 26 board meeting. Acme Taxpayers for Responsible Government (ATRG) believes our township is on an ill conceived course that leads to decreased property rights and values, and escalating litigation. Participants in the Sewer District will be the first to pay for this mischief. The rest of us will follow. Farmland Preservation, Waterfront Park from M72 to Bunker Hill, Residential PUD’s, Future Land Use Map … PLEASE attend the Planning Commission/FLUM public hearing scheduled July 30. HOW MUCH MUST WE PAY FOR SOMEONE ELSE’S VIEW OF THE BAY?
